Breast-feeding is the best choice for your baby's overall physical and mental development. But there are some circumstances when nursing is impossible. In such cases, the feeding bottle becomes indispensable for feeding baby and exercising his or her jaw muscles. At Green Baby we strongly believe that glass bottles are a better choice than plastic - here's why:
1. Many plastic bottles contain hormone- disrupting phthalates to soften the vinyl. This can leach into your baby's drink. Glass bottles can be washed in a dishwasher, boiled or sterilised in conventional sterilisers with no risk of any chemicals entering baby's drink.
2. Plastic bottles can develop cracks after a while, which may harbour bacteria. Glass bottles are more hygienic in this respect.
3. Glass bottles are less likely to hold smells and tastes from previous feeds. Plastic bottles can sometimes harbour odours even after cleaning.
4. Glass can be recycled and lasts longer than plastic. In addition, the production of glass does not harm the environment in the way that the manufacture of plastic does.
5. Glass bottles can be treated just like plastic bottles - except for perhaps throwing them onto hard floors. They are all made of heat-resistant toughened glass, so are safe to sterilise and put in the dishwasher. All our feeding bottles bear the European RAL Symbol, which means they've been tested to the highest level of safety. More
